Great Britain Masters v. Italy Masters, Florence, June 2001
The first Masters Challenge was held in the beautiful European city of Florence, on 21st June 2001. The stage was set for a replay of one of the most famous races in rowing history, when the Searles rowed the Abbagnales down in the closing seconds of the Olympic final to snatch gold at the Barcelona Games in 1992.
